Defenders take care of Chiefs in quick fashion

The game was over quickly, but that’s what helps the Archangels program keeping chugging.

The Defenders whipped Omaha Nation 54-0 here Friday afternoon, and that allowed head coach Eric Kessler to empty his bench and get his younger players valuable experience.

“It’s a little bit of a tougher week, we don’t like to look ahead, so we just worked on ourselves this week and getting the younger kids some snaps, and they got a lot of snaps,” he said. “Like I told them, we have them on film now, so we can critique some things. We’ve played five games and a lot of these guys didn’t get five snaps in five games because of the competition we’ve had, so it’s good to get them on film, so we can correct some things.”
