LETTER TO THE EDITOR
Over the last few months, I’ve come to the realization that I am a DEFENDER I am a DEFENDER of readily accessible Catholic faith based education in rural Nebraska I am a DEFENDER of quality education for my children at a school where they feel safe, valued, respected and where their opinions are acknowledged I am a DEFENDER of those too scared or unable to speak out for fear of discrimination I am a DEFENDER of Canon law that states that it is my right to speak out against propositions that I feel are more harmful than beneficial to those that proposal will affect I am a DEFENDER of my children for standing up for what they believe in based on the values and morals I have instilled in them I am a DEFENDER for Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish and the associated elementary and jr/sr high schools filled with its parishioners I am a DEFENDER Of all those that fought for our country so we may have the rights that we do without fear of persecution I am a DEFENDER of the FLYERS mascot — that is more than just a mascot it is a memorial to all military personnel and the sacrifices they endured Thank you Archbishop Lucas, Father Stan, and the transition team for igniting the DEFENDER spark in my soul — for without your actions, I would have never come to realization how big of a DEFENDER I truly am — GOD BLESS! Sarah Keiser Czarnick
