Humphrey High has a lot to say

Speech team earns Class D championship; it’s 3rd title in 5 years

For the third time in five years, the Humphrey High School speech team is state champions.

The team traveled Friday to Kearney High School to compete in the Class D1 State Speech Tournament.

The Bulldogs took 15 students who competed in 13 events.

Senior Oriana Kuehler became the first student in the state to earn triple gold at the NSAA state speech tournament. She earned first place in entertainment speaking, poetry and serious prose. She also qualified for the NIETOC tournament in serious prose.
