Pool committee formed

Group works with design firm; will seek funding

For the past several weeks members of the Humphrey Area Aquatic Development Committee have been meeting to discuss the initial stages of a new aquatic center to serve Humphrey and the surrounding communities.

The committee has been discussing various aspects each member would like to see in a new pool to help the team from Aquatic Design Consultants plan a pool to best serve the communities.

The committee also is working diligently to begin the fundraising portion of financing the new facility. While an exact price is not known at this time the new pool will likely cost in excess of the $3.5 million. The committee has set a goal of raising $1 million in private donations and has begun to identify cornerstone donors in an effort to kick-start the fundraising campaign.
