Addison Schneider

Addison Schneider, a 2022 graduate of Humphrey High School, is the Norfolk Daily News Most Valuable Area Female Athlete of the Year. She is the daughter of Carl and Anonda Schneider. She led the Humphrey-Lindsay Holy Family girls basketball team to the school’s first state title last season. Schneider will attend Peru State College and pursue a degree in biology and secondary education and teach 7-12 science. She also hopes to add a coaching position to her resume and someday be a college professor. Addison received the Board of Trustees Scholarship for full tuition for 4 years from Peru State. She will also be a part of their academic Honor’s program and the women’s basketball team at Peru. Courtesy photo

Platte Center was left to clean up again after an April flood left a blanket of water throughout town. Volunteers cleaned from an all-to-common occurrence. A watershed project might help alleviate the problem, but there is a lot of coordination to put any plan into place. Democrat file photo
