Local merchants fight to keep shoppers in town

Operating a business can be hard. Operating a business in a small town can be harder. Small-town businesses lack the buying power of box stores, there are fewer local shoppers, and businesses — large and small, big town and small town— are losing sales to the growing number of online shoppers.
