Day for heroes

Veterans Day program honors those who serve

Ten men draped in honor, another who spoke about his service to his country and music fitting for the day.

Veterans Days took center stage Monday morning at St. Francis High School as the community paused to honor our veterans.

The program included the presentation of the Quilts of Valor to 10 local veterans. Mike Korth, adjutant for Humphrey American Legion Post 80, introduced them as they came forward to receive their quilts from Mary Ann Babel, a member of the Humphrey quilting club, Crafts & Things Quilt Club, which is the local chapter of the Quilts of Valor, and will make quilts to be presented to veterans each year.
