H-LHF girls drop game to Fremont Bergan, 54-50

A Humphrey-Lindsay Holy Family rally fell just short here in the opening round of the Class D1 Girls State Basketball Tournament on Thursday afternoon at Lincoln North Star High School against Fremont Archbishop Bergan.

After trailing to open the final eight minutes, 41-38, then 43-38 after a Knight basket by Haley Kempf opened the fourth, the Bulldogs got busy.

Allie Schneider found Jessica Olmer breaking to the basket to bring H/LHF back to within three then Schneider took off after a steal by Danie Brandl and dribbled in for a layup to close the gap to a single point, 43-42.
