St. Francis falls in final seconds to Wynot, 45-44

In a game that will certainly be talked about for some time, Wynot coach Steve Wieseler went deep into his playbook to outlast Humphrey St. Francis, 45-44 here in the first round Thursday of the D2 State Girls Basketball Tournament at Lincoln North Star High School.

Wieseler called timeout with 4.8 seconds left on the clock after St. Francis super sophomore, Allison Weidner, missed the front end of a one-and-one with 9.5 ticks left and her team leading by one, 44-43.

The Blue Devils advanced theball just past midcourt when the ball was knocked out of bounds with the 4.8 seconds remaining.
