When my wife and I were dating, after meeting my future father-in-law for the first time, I asked her what kind of accent he had.
She laughed and said, “He doesn’t have an accent, he just mumbles.”
I joked that he often looked like an unmade bed, shirt half tucked in, a belt loop missed, pants hanging low — sometimes too low.
That was Lee, that was my father-in-law.
