St. Francis junior Andrew Kosch, right, shot a 78 and finished as runner up in the Patriot Invite. Freshmen Jacob Keller, left, carded an 86 and earned the 14th place medal. The team shot a 355 which placed them 5th in the 15 team tournament.

Flyers whip E/PJ 66-0

St. Francis scored on offense, defense and special teams Friday to shutout Elgin Public/Pope John 66-0. The Flyers scored 40 in the first quarter, with Trevor Pfeifer getting it started with an 18-yard interception return. Taylor Wemhoff, who scored three touchdowns, followed with a 56-yard punt return for a score. Pfeifer scored on a 21-yard run, and Wemhoff added runs of 21 and 19 yards to round out the first quarter scoring. Justin Leifeld found the end zone twice, scoring on a 22-yards run and catching a 46-yard pass from Tanner Pfeifer. Spencer Engel scored on a 4-yard run, and Isaac Classen closed the scoring with a 10-yard run. The Flyers, 60, travel to Riverside Friday.
