Bulldogs pick up 3 wins in busy week

A third quarter surge led the Humphrey-Lindsay Holy Family boys past Madison 69-51 Feb. 1 in the East Husker Conference Tournament. Clinging to a 27-25 halftime lead, the Bulldogs went to work in the third, outscoring the Dragons 21-9 to take a 48-34 lead heading to the fourth. The Bulldogs continue its offensive roll in the fourth, outscoring Madison 21-17 to take the win. Jacob Sjuts led five Bulldogs in scoring with 14 points. Bret Hanis added 13, Aidan Weidner, 12, Jason Sjuts, 11, and Tyler Sjuts tallied 10. Tyler also grabbed 11 boards, Jacob had 10, Weidner, eight, and Hanis, seven. Jacob also recorded five steals.
