Humphrey FFA members teach safety during academy
On Oct. 14, the Humphrey FFA chapter held Safety Academy for 228 elementary students in grades K-6th from St. Francis and Humphrey High School at the Humphrey City Park.
The students learned about various topics, such as Livestock Safety, Tractor Safety, Internet Safety, Sun Safety, Fire Safety, Grain Safety, Pet Safety, Bike Safety, Water Safety, ATV Safety, Electrical Safety and more. The goal of this activity was to inform students about the dangers at home and on the farm and educate them on how to prevent accidents from happening.
Forty-one Humphrey FFA members helped with Safety Academy. The elementary students had fun learning about all the facts and the safety tips through safety demonstrations, presentations and activities.
