Cornhusker crews respond to ice storm damage in area

Between Tuesday, Nov. 10, and Thursday Nov. 12, approximately 2,000 customers were without power in Colfax, Platte and southern Nance counties.

Cornhusker Public Power District crews were dispatched at 12 a.m. Tuesday morning as freezing rain accumulated on trees and power lines.

“The ice accumulation on power lines and tree branches was very significant. Most outages were caused by broken tree limbs,” Operations Director Mike Stockwell said.
