LaVerna Margaret Weis

LaVerna Margaret Weis, 88, of Dallas, Texas, passed away at her home with family members at her side on Tuesday, Jan 19, 2021.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date and a private committal will also will held at a later date.

LaVerna was born on the family farm in rural Joliet Township, Platte County, Neb., on Feb. 6 1932, to James E and Mary Catherine (Widhalm) Connelly. She attended an elementary school in Joliet township and she graduated from Holy Family High School in Lindsay, Neb., in 1949. In the summer of 1949 she attended Wayne State College, Wayne, Neb., and started her career in Education. As a teacher for 10 years in the Nebraska Rural Education group where she taught at school at three schools in Platte County Neb. She attended colleges in Wayne, Neb., Albuquerque, N.M., and Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
