Nitrate levels still acceptable, but village gets proactive

The water in Platte Center is fine, but the village wants to make sure there are no problems in the future.

A new well is being dug in the village to replace a well that has been operating for as long as anyone can remember.

The village has two wells, one on the highway spur that is about 10-11 years old, and the oldest well is located by the grain elevator near Eighth Street and G Street.
