The America Red Cross held a blood drive May 8 for the Espiritu and Coble families. Deco Espiritu and Riggs Coble, preschoolers at Platte Center Elementary School, have acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Marlyn Hunke

Mass of Christian Burial for Marlyn (Mrs. Eugene) Hunke age 80 of Dodge, Neb., was on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge, Neb. Interment was at the St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. Visitation was on Monday, July 5, from 5-7 p.m., and a Wake Service began at 7 p.m., and continued on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service all at the church. Minnick Funeral Chapel in Dodge is handling the arrangements for the family.

Marlyn (Van Dyke) Hunke was born on Sept. 25, 1940, in Humphrey, Neb., to Solanus and Stella (Ottis) Van Dyke. She grew up in the Cornlea, Neb., area and graduated from Humphrey St. Francis High School in 1958. She was employed with the Public Power District prior to her marriage.
