Condolences may be sent to the family at: www. levanderfuneralhome.com Loran Allan Zumbrunn, son of Allan Zumbrunn and Lorraine (McIntyre) Paprocki was born on March 21, 1984, in Albion, Neb. He grew up on a farm south of Albion and attended Boone Central Public School. Growing up, Loran enjoyed 4-H, wrestling and cross country while in high school. Following his graduation from high school in 2002, Loran went on to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he earned an Engineering Degree. He did an internship at Case New Holland in Grand Island and was hired by them and worked as an engineer for the next eight years.

On Loran’s 30th birthday, March 21, 2014, he went to Colorado with a friend and was in a skiing accident, which caused a traumatic brain injury. Loran worked hard through recovery and therapy and made strides that he didn’t know were possible including being able to walk and drive again. After living for a year with his sister Lana in Lincoln and living independently for several years Loran moved to Charlottesville, Va., to live near his brother Rollie’s family. While there, he was an active uncle and did volunteer work supporting senior citizens. Soon after, he met his best friend Melissa Palombi whom he married on Oct. 22, 2022, in Charlottesville, Va.

He was a kind, authentic and humorous person who enjoyed hiking, bowling, horseback riding, travelling and spending time with loved ones. Outside of enjoying time with those around him, he was extremely dedicated and worked exceedingly hard at everything he pursued, whether in his studies, work, recovery, or hobbies.

Loran is survived by his wife Melissa Palombi of Charlottesville, Va.; his father Allan Zumbrunn of Charlottesville, Va.; mother Lorraine and husband Chuck Paprocki of Columbus, Neb.; brother Roland and wife Sharon Zumbrunn, and their children Olivia and Jack of Charlottesville, Va.; Lana Zumbrunn and husband Mitchell Robertson, and their children Seth and Isaac of Seattle, Wash.; grandmother Jane McIntyre of Grand Island, Neb.; step-sisters: Kari Paprocki of Lincoln, Neb., and family Paige (Ethan) and daughter Luna; Skye (Mitch); Rayna (Tanner); Shawna Paprocki of Lincoln, Neb.; stepbrother Brent (CoLynn) Paprocki of Humphrey, Neb.; mother-inlaw Phyllis Palombi and spouse Dr Rick Hilburn; brother-in-law Marcello (Katie) Palombi and daughter Ellie; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
