Mary Ann Seibert

Funeral service for Mary Ann Seibert, 92, of Norfolk, were at 1 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk, Nebraska. Reverend Brian Johnson officiated the service. Interment took place at the Laurel City Cemetery in Laurel, Neb., following the funeral was a luncheon. A visitation was held from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service time at the funeral home.

Mary Ann passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, at the Norfolk Veterans Home. Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Mary Ann was born Sept. 6, 1932, at Coleridge, Neb., to William and Lillie (Jones) Hinrichs. Mary Ann graduated from Laurel High school with the class of 1950. She then went to Wayne Normal College, Wayne, Neb., and received her teaching certificate. Mary Ann taught for one year and then went to work for the Laurel telephone company. Mary Ann married Wayne Seibert on June 3, 1954, at United Presbyterian church in Laurel. After married the couple lived in Laurel for a year, then moved to the Seibert family farm north of Laurel ten miles. Mary Ann helped on the farm, enjoyed baking, canning, sewing, and took great care and pride with her garden. She also belonged to the Tuesday Country Club. They moved off the farm to Norfolk in 2007.

They were members of First Presbyterian Church in Norfolk. She was active in the church, serving as a deacon and elder throughout the years. Mary Ann volunteered at the food pantry, and always lent a helping hand that was needed, along with spending time at the Orphan Grain Train. Wayne and Mary Ann moved to the Norfolk Veterans

Home in 2023.

Survivors include Husband Wayne Seibert of Norfolk, four daughters Kimberly Wetjen of Humphrey, Laurie Seibert of Tulsa, Okla.,, Jane Seibert of Marlton, New Jersey, Paula (Paul) Perske of David City, Neb., three grandchildren, Kara (Tim) Gronenthal, Justin (Sheena) Wetjen, Olivia Perske, greatgrandchildren Allissia (Bryan) Harms, Ashley Gronenthal, Elsie Wetjen, Ciera Predmore, Corbin Predmore, Saige Predmore, great-great grandchildren, Danielle, Brynleigh, Hayden, siblings Shirley (Mike) Bruce of Frisco, Texas, Jim (Deb) Hinrichs of Chillicothe, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Lillie, son-in-law Larry Wetjen, grandson in-law Jeff Gronenthal siblings and in laws Doris (Lloyd) Hansen, Phyllis (Carsten) Graverholt, Norma (Martin) Hansen, George (Audrey) Hinrichs, Lois (Bernie) Hinck, infant brother Carroll.
