Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey. Visitation is on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Vigil service to follow, all at St. Francis Church. Visitation continues on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment is in St. Francis Cemetery.
Paul Labenz was born July 3,1936 in Humphrey to Joseph and Clara (Wilhelm) Labenz. He grew up in Humphrey and attended St. Francis Schools. On April 4, 1959, Paul was united in marriage to Marilyn Drawbaugh at St. Francis Church in Humphrey.
Besides farming the family farm, Paul worked road construction, drove the school bus for Humphrey Public Schools, and worked at Behlen Manufacturing for 33 years. Following his retirement from Behlen’s, Paul worked for a farmer and cattle feeder and later worked for Humphrey Township maintaining roads.
Paul enjoyed attending basketball games, going on tour bus trips, playing cards daily, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a member
of St. Francis Church and the Knights of Columbus.
