Interment will be in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the People's City Mission (110 Q Street, Lincoln, NE 68508) Brian was born on April 8, 1971, to Paul and Bonnie (Stenger) Ramaekers and grew up as one of nine children on the family farm south of Cornlea, Nebraska.
Brian attended Humphrey St. Francis Catholic Schools, graduating in 1989, and went on to earn both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Mechanized Systems Management from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
After several years working at grain elevators and managing lumberyards, Brian returned to the family farm.
Brian was dedicated to farming and found great fulfillment in planning and analysis. He took joy in solving problems and seeing the results of his work. For many years, he farmed alongside his dad and two of his brothers. His deliberate, analytical approach perfectly balanced the “figure-it-out-as-we-go” spirit of his brothers.
Brian deeply loved his family. He spoke daily with one or more of his brothers, sisters, or parents. He especially adored his nieces and nephews and treasured his role as their uncle.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Bonnie Ramaekers, and his sister, Brenda Ramaekers.
Brian is survived by his sisters Kimberly (Terry) Patzel of Lincoln and Janine (Scott) Strunc of Omaha; his brothers Jamie (Michelle) Ramaekers of Lincoln, Steven (Jill) Ramaekers of Columbus, Kurt (Jennifer) Ramaekers of Lincoln, Michael (Natalie) Ramaekers of Humphrey, and Mark Ramaekers of Lincoln; as well as many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
