Mass of Christian Burial was 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey. Visitation was 3-5 p.m., which was followed by a 5 p.m. vigil service Sunday all at the church. Visitation continued Monday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial was in the St. Francis Parish Cemetery.

Marilyn Labenz was born Aug. 22, 1936, in Rising City, Neb., to Fred and Georgia (Sandusky) Drawbaugh. She grew up in Butler County and graduated from Columbus High School in 1954. After graduating, Marilyn worked for a Savings & Loan Company in Columbus before moving to Sacramento, Calif., in 1956. She then returned to Columbus in 1958. On April 4, 1959, Marilyn was united in marriage to Paul Labenz at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey. The couple then lived together on the family farm near Humphrey. Marilyn was active in the extension club and served as a 4H leader. She was active in St. Francis Church, serving on the parish council and was a CCD teacher for many years. Marilyn also worked for Humphrey Public Schools in food service for 30 years.

Marilyn and Paul enjoyed taking bus trips together and spending time with all of their family and friends.

Marilyn is survived by: Son Kurt (Sharon) Labenz of Omaha; Son Keith (Janelle) Labenz of Norfolk; Daughter Karen (Dustin) Premer of Kearney; 8 Grandchildren, 3 Greatgrandchildren and 1 on the way; Brother Galen Drawbaugh of Warsaw, Ind.; Sister-in-law Pat Drawbaugh of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; Several Nieces and Nephews.

She is preceded in death by: Husband Paul Labenz; Parents Fred and Georgia Drawbaugh; Brothers Earl and Tom Drawbaugh; Sister Donna (Marvin) Schrieber; Brother Carroll Drawbaugh; Sister-in-law Jeanette Drawbaugh.
