Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Tarnov, Neb., with Father Dan Wittrock celebrating the Mass. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. with a 5 p.m. Vigil Service all at the church. Visitation will continue on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Memorials are suggested as those of family choice.

Born Jan. 10, 1959, Bob lived a life rooted in faith, family, farming and friendship. Bob took great pride in caring for the family farm that he operated since graduating from Humphrey High in 1977.

In November 1995, Bob married the love of his life, Adrienne “Jo” (Johannes) Shemek. They enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, tractors and meticulously maintaining the farm. They also made wonderful memories with family and friends.

Bob was deeply devoted to his wife & family. He always had one more seat, snack or a cold drink for anyone who stopped by “the shop.”

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mary Lou (Molczyk) Shemek and parents in-law Paul & Annette (Heins) Johannes & brother inlaw Allan Johannes & sister inlaw Sharon Johannes.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Adrienne “Jo”; his siblings, Tom (Kathy) Shemek & Rita (Terry) Huettner; his brother-in-law, Arlan Johannes and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bob will be remembered for his endless devotion and care for his wife and family, his quiet dedication to hard work, farming, kindness and generosity.
