David W. Korth

David W. Korth, 76, of Platte Center, Neb., died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023, at Edgewood Vista in Columbus, Neb.

Mass of Christian Burial was on Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 10 a.m., at St. Isidore Church and Father Joe Miksch celebrated the Mass. Visitation was on Monday from 4-6 p.m. with a 6 p.m. vigil service all at the church. Visitation continued Tuesday from 9 a.m. until service time, also at the church. Interment with military honors will be in St. Joseph/St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, rural Platte Center, Neb. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested as those of the family or donor's choice.

David Korth was born May 15, 1947, in Sterling, Colo., to Harold and Bernice (Stenger) Korth. At the age of eight, the family moved to Lindsay, Neb., where David graduated from Holy Family Catholic High School. After graduating from high school, Dave entered the United States Army and Army Reserves from Sept. 19, 1966, until his honorable discharge on May 18, 1972. On Jan. 2, 1971, David was united in marriage to Marilyn Inselman at St. Bernard Catholic Church. Dave worked for Lindsay Manufacturing as a welder for 46 years.

David was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoyed baseball and bowling and when his children were young, was a baseball coach for them. He truly loved his grandchildren and spending time with them. On the farm where he lived, he raised all sorts of animals and livestock.
