Duane Beiermann, age 69, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, at St. Joseph's Villa in David City.

Mass of Christian Burial was 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Visitation was Monday from 5-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. vigil service at St. Isidore Catholic Church, due to the Advent Penance Service at St. Anthony's. Burial is in All Saints Cemetery with Military Honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard.

Duane Beiermann was born Feb. 8, 1952, in Humphrey to Aloys and Cecilia (Wemhoff) Beiermann. He attended St. Mary’s grade school and graduated in 1971 from St. Francis High School in Humphrey. He entered the US Army in 1971, serving in Germany and was discharged in 1974. On Nov. 27, 1971, he was united in marriage to Janice Lindhorst at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay, Neb. After serving in the Army, Duane began working as a mechanic and truck driver in Norfolk. In 1980, the family moved to Columbus where Duane worked various jobs in the Agriculture and Trucking business.

Duane was a member of the Columbus Volunteer Fire Department for 28 years. He attended St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where he served as an EME and was a member of Knights of Columbus.

Duane enjoyed turning wrenches, gardening with the neighbor, golfing and tinkering around outside. He especially enjoyed spending lots and lots time with his grandchildren.
