St. Francis junior Andrew Kosch, right, shot a 78 and finished as runner up in the Patriot Invite. Freshmen Jacob Keller, left, carded an 86 and earned the 14th place medal. The team shot a 355 which placed them 5th in the 15 team tournament.

Eileen Wessel

Eileen Wessel, 92, of Humphrey, Neb., died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019, at Countryside Home in Madison, Neb.

Mass of Christian Burial was Monday, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m., at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey, and Father Wayne Pavela celebrated the Mass. Interment was in the parish cemetery. Visitation was on Sunday from 5-7 p.m. and a Vigil Service was at 7 p.m., all at the church. Visitation continued on Monday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Memorials are suggested to those of the family choice.

Eileen Ann Wessel was born on July 26, 1927, to Joseph and Cecelia (Weiser) Fuchs, in Humphrey. She attended St. Francis Elementary School and graduated from St. Francis High in 1945. After working for Dr. Abst in Humphrey, she then worked as an operator for Northwestern Bell.
