Loretta Reichmuth

Loretta Reichmuth, 93, of Leigh, died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022, at the Nursing Home in Clarkson, Neb.

Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leigh, Neb., and Rev. Eric Olson, was the Celebrant.

Visitation was Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. with 7 p.m. Rosary at the church.

Visitation was Wednesday one hour prior to Mass.

Committal in the church cemetery, with lunch following at the church.

Lorie was born May 25, 1929, in Humphrey, Neb., to John and Johanna (Fugger) Hollatz. She attended school in Humphrey and graduated from Humphrey St. Francis High School. On Sept. 13, 1955, she married Richard Reichmuth at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey. They lived and farmed near Leigh. Lorie enjoyed quilting, gardening and baking bread. The family had a tradition of supplying cat tails to the fair each year, and it continues to this day. She also sold fireworks and raffle tickets for the summer recreation program and lined up the Color Guard for the annual fast pitch softball tournament. Lorie was a member of the church and the Altar Society.

Surviving are her children: Jeff (Geri) Reichmuth of Broomfield, Colo., Julie Degner of Greeley, Colo., Tim, Pete and Mary Kay, Tom and Lisa Reichmuth and Jim and Bonnie Machmueller, all of Leigh, grandchildren; Paige (Tyler) Thurston, Kevin (Savra) Degner, Laura (Kale) Huettner, Brant (Morgan) Reichmuth, Christopher Hajek, Erica Bovee and Shawn Barrett, Brian (Lindsey) Hajek and Nathan (Kelsi) Worley, Eric Reichmuth and Camron Degner. Lorie is also survived by great-grandchildren; Theo, Waylon, Isla, Eastyn, Emilie, Eli, Haley, Joshua, Myah, Mariah, Bryson, Kaden, Kami, Alex, Thomas, Karson, Brantley and Russell.

She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Sara Reichmuth, both in 2009, sisters Rose Cohon, Mary Weeder, Josephine Klassen, Viola Hastreiter and brothers, Alphonse, Leo, Alfred, Elmer and Sylvester Hollatz.
