Louis M. "Buzz" Hastreiter

Louis “Buzz” Hastreiter, 53, passed away at his home in Omaha, Neb., on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022.

A Celebration of Life for Buzz will be on Friday, March 4, at 11 a.m. in Omaha at Calvary Cemetery with a luncheon to follow.

Buzz was born on July 27, 1968, the youngest surviving child of Carroll and Susan (Lewis) Hastreiter, in Norfolk, Neb. He attended St. Francis and Humphrey Public Schools. After working various jobs in various places, he settled in Omaha, Neb., also working various jobs. Fishing was a favorite pastime, and he was an avid Husker fan.

He is survived by his children Tyler, Kyle, Penny, Patrick and Christopher; his siblings Joe (Gina) Hastreiter of Winchester, Calif., Peter (Kathy) Hastreiter of Norfolk, Neb., Laura (Marlin) Loseke of Blair, Neb., Pat (Michele) Hastreiter of Humphrey, Neb., Marie (Steve) Schreier of Lincoln, Neb., Bernice (John) Fuchs of LaVista, Neb., Fred (Cindy) Hastreiter of Peyton, Colo., and Monica (Brian) Chandler of Scottsbluff, Neb.; and numerous nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.

Buzz was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Susan Hastreiter, a brother Mark, his maternal grandparents Carl and Margaret (Heinen) Lewis, and his paternal grandparents Louis and Frieda (Fischer) Hastreiter.
