Louise A. (Albers) Ternus

Louise A. (Albers) Ternus, age 90 of Perham, Minn., died Saturday, April 1, 2017, in Perham Living. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. with parish prayers at 7 p.m., Friday, April 7, at Schoeneberger Funeral Home in Perham. Visitation will resume from 10-11 a.m. followed by the funeral Mass at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 8, at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Perham. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Louise Augusta Ternus was born Feb. 3, 1927, in Humphrey, Neb., the daughter of Dr. John Albers and Josephine (Busch) Albers. After high school, Louise worked for two years as a receptionist in her father’s dental office. On Aug. 27, 1946, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Mathew Ternus at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey, Neb. Louise and Lawrence moved to Minnesota in 1951 where they purchased a farm near New York Mills. Louise loved cooking, canning, entertaining and taking care of her family. She also enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, mahjong, playing cards and hosting chicken frys. Louise is survived by her children Mike (Dr. Debra Guthmann- Ternus) Ternus of Auburn, Calif., Suzanne (Bruce Brandt) Ternus of Columbia Heights, Minn.,and Kevin (Roxanne Jacobs)  Ternus of Ottertail, Minn.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers Dr. John Albers, Gerald (Grace) Albers and Dr. Richard (Marilyn) Albers; daughter -in-law Barbara Ternus; along with many nieces, nephews and their families. Preceding Louise in death were her parents Josephine and Dr. John Albers; her husband Lawrence on January 10, 2008;her son Dr. Larry Ternus; her brother Dr. Hubert Albers; and her sister Mary Jo (Albers) Thurmond. Our family would also like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Perham Health and Perham Living. Both flowers and memorials appreciated.
