Theresa (Zach) Wieser

Theresa (Zach) Wieser died peacefully on Wednesday, September 13, 2017. She was 88 years old. Mass of Christian Burial was at 10 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2017, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus, Neb. The Vigil was 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, at St. Anthony Catholic Church Visitation was 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, St. Anthony Catholic Church and continued Monday morning from 9-10 a.m. also at the church Burial was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Rural Humphrey, Neb. Theresa was born on January 19, 1929, in Humphrey, to Joe and Mary (Pfeifer) Zach, the 8th of 11 children. She grew up on the farm near Humphrey, graduating from St. Francis High School in 1948. Theresa was united in marriage to Luke T. Wieser at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church near Humphrey. To this union 14 children were born. The couple made their livelihood from farming before moving to Columbus, Neb., in 1960. Theresa was a homemaker and worked at K-Mart for 10 years. She was a member of St. Anthony Church for 57 years where she sang in the choir, taught PRE and often led the rosary with Luke before the 10:30 Sunday mass. She was also a member of the Christian Mothers. Mom will always be remembered for her homemade cinnamon rolls, bread and pickles. , She is survived by: Daughter: Diane (Don) Vanecek of Blair, Neb. Daughter: Joan (Scott) Wrobel of Kearney, NE Son-in-law: George Menke of Columbus, Neb. Son: Ted (Theresa) Wieser of Lincoln, Neb. Son: Paul (Stacy) Wieser of St. Louis, Mo. Son: Andy (Paulette) Wieser of Columbus, Neb. Daughter: Rose (Bill) Held of Piedmont, S.D. Daughter: Sandy (Joe) Di-Somma of Plattsmouth, Neb. Son: Bill (Sandy) Wieser of Harlan, Iowa Son: Bob (Cindy) Wieser of Columbus, Neb. Daughter: Genene (Doug) Hayden of Gladstone, Mo. Daughter: Jayne (Ed) Martin of Lees Summit, Mo. Son: Joe (Sonya) Wieser of Columbus, NE 45 Grandchildren, 59 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Granddaughter Sisters: Colette Paprocki and Frances (Allen) Beller Brothers: Dick (Henrietta) Zach and Erv Zach She was preceded in death by: Parents: Joe and Mary Zach Husband: Luke Wieser Daughters: Nora Mae Wieser and Judy Menke Grandsons: Benji Held and Ryan Wieser Sisters: Henrietta Sueper, Emma Hasse and Helen Stritt Brothers: Fritz Zach, Joe Zach and Leo Zach In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Anthony Church.
