It took St. Francis a set to get going, but once they did the smiles returned and they cruised to a four-set win Friday morning over Maywood-Hayes Center in the semifinals of the Class D-2 state tournament at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Flyers rally to top Anselmo-Merna

Humphrey St. Francis fell behind two sets to one but rebounded to defeat a scrappy Anselmo-Merna side, 22-25, 25-14, 20-25, 25-22, 15-9, in the opening round of the Class D2 state tournament on Thursday morning at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
