Humphrey is being asked to vote on an additional 1/2 cent sales tax to help pay for a new $3.1 million swimming pool. I am not against Humphrey having a pool, but do we really need to spend $3.1 million? It will take a lot of taxable sales to raise money to pay off this debt. The city has about $500,000 set aside to be used for the pool. They are hoping to get a grant, and then raise as much as possible by donations. If not a loan, we will be applied for to pay for this.
