The America Red Cross held a blood drive May 8 for the Espiritu and Coble families. Deco Espiritu and Riggs Coble, preschoolers at Platte Center Elementary School, have acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The traditional Oktoberfest German Dinner returned Sunday to St. John’s Lutheran Church and School. The meal, which returned to form this year after dealing with covid a year ago, features bratwurst, german meatballs, Eisbein and saurkraut, along with hot German potato salad and much more, including a variety of desserts.
