Platte Center’s mud volleyball got a boost from a rainfall the night before. The annual tournament begins the Fourth of July celebration that includes Friday’s frog jumping contest and turtle races. Saturday includes a Fun Run, pop-up pub and lawn mower porker run. On Sunday, the fire department will have a water fight, and there’s a community meal. On the Fourth of July, the parade kicks off the day, followed by a lunch, kiddie tractor pull and demolition derby. Democrat photos
