Dense fog blamed on semi-truck, train accident
On Oct. 7, at approximately 7:49 a.m., deputies with the Platte County Sheriff’s Office responded to a semi-train collision at a railway crossing on Highway 91 near the intersection of 280th Ave.

On Sept. 25, Steepleview Golf Course hosted the 6th Annual Steepleview Cup Matches. Both teams quailified for their respective team thru the 2021 golf leagues and The "Ryder Cup" format proves a fun and interesting change to the usual competitive golf played on league nights. The Tuesday Night Men's League (red team) defeated the Thursday Night Men's League (blue team) with a score of 23-21. The all-time series is now at three apiece, so next year's Cup Matches will be a rubber match to break the tie. The body of John Paul “Jack” Langan was brought home Sept. 29 to St. Joseph-St. Patrick Cemetery in rural Platte Center. He lost his life during World War II, and 78 years later his remains were brought back to be buried with family members. Democrat photos

Members of Honor and Remember Nebraska Chapter displayed and then pesented their flag to the Langan family.
It was a homecoming long overdue.
